I’m Jason Layne. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and Tail Gunner Off-Road.
I have been lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time out on the trails. During that time I have seen and learned some things. There have been beautiful landscapes and some spectacular crashes. So spectacular, the phrase “it’s a miracle you weren’t hurt” is often used. I have helped recover a machine that rolled half way down a mountain and also witnessed a vehicle burn because no one carried a fire extinguisher. Then there are those amazing trail repairs. The ones using what you have on hand; a rock, a 5 foot tree branch and a ratchet strap. There is also that smashed finger held together with half a t-shirt and some tape.
My days of heading out for the weekend with nothing more than a tank of gas, a case of beer, 4 hot dogs and 3 buns have passed. Now, a few of my favorite quotes are “It is better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it” and “hope for the best but be prepared for the worst”.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way is what guides Tail Gunner Off-Road and the products we offer.
What is a Tail Gunner?
“Tail Gunner” is a nod to the brave men in World War II. A Tail Gunner was to be positioned in the back of a bomber plane. Much like the person, with the same name, at the back of the pack on the rides today. Their job was and is to keep everyone in front of them safe.
